My research paper is over the denial of the holocaust.
During the Holocaust 6 million Jews died under the control of Hitler. Even
though the events were so big there are still people that don’t believe the
holocaust existed. It could be a psychological problem or formed groups that
supported Hitler.
Psychologically people want to forget because they feel
bad that they did nothing about it. Some people lived next to the gas chambers
and still deny that they saw anything happen. They also try to deny that they
didn’t smell the gas chambers while they were
active.
In addition to the psychological problem, there are also
many people that are persuaded by propaganda in news papers, magazines,
television, and the internet to make people believe there is not enough evidence
to show that the holocaust ever happened. The biggest denials of the holocaust
are: Denying that 6 million Jews died during WWII, Hitler didn’t mean to kill
the Jews, and that the gas chambers never existed. People like to deny the
Holocaust so they are not blamed for what happened.
Not everyone knows about the Holocaust because people do
not know enough facts. They look at propaganda and believe what they are seeing.
This has been occurring on college campuses around the country. There have been
students that claim that their professors try to persuade them into believing
nothing happened.
In Germany it is a crime to deny the
Holocaust.
There are two groups that were
just convicted of doing so. Collegium Humanum and Bauernhilfe
are the two groups that denied the Holocaust. Their activities include anti-Semitic propaganda and praising the
tyranny of the Nazis over the Internet, as well as in printed
leaflets. According
to the organized groups 150 members dropped in 2007 making it 850
members.Due to the
arrest of these groups more crime has broken out because they believe in freedom
of speech.
